Delivery posts moved to their own hashtag

Freight Fate ·

Freight Fate's automatic delivery posts now carry the FreightFateRuns hashtag instead of FreightFate. Players use the FreightFate tag to share their own thoughts and feedback about the game, and anyone who had muted it to keep the automatic posts out of their timeline was losing those conversations too. The two are separate now: FreightFate is for people talking, FreightFateRuns is for the game posting.

You do not need to change anything. If you muted the FreightFate hashtag because of the delivery posts, you can unmute it and mute FreightFateRuns instead. If you were following along with other drivers' deliveries, follow the FreightFateRuns tag to keep seeing them. Posts you already made stay where they are.

Share your notable deliveries to Mastodon

Freight Fate ·

You can now link your own Mastodon account to your Freight Fate driver and let the game celebrate for you. When a delivery earns you an achievement, a driver level, or a perfect streak milestone, Freight Fate posts a short public summary to your account with the FreightFate hashtag so followers can filter it. Routine deliveries are never posted.

Everything is opt-in and stays under your control. Linking happens on this site with your own Mastodon server, and the authorization only allows posting and reading your account name, so the game can tell you which account is linked: Freight Fate cannot read your timeline, messages, or followers. Nothing posts until you also turn on Share notable deliveries to Mastodon in the game under Settings, then Online, and unlinking at any time stops posting immediately.

Cloud Backup is working again for every version

Freight Fate ·

Cloud Backup had stopped accepting careers saved by some versions of Freight Fate. If you play version 1.8.3 or 1.8.1, backups stopped going through on 20 July. If you have been playing the developer snapshots released on 18 or 19 July, backups never went through at all. On those versions, backing up told you the backup was not accepted, and your newest progress stayed on your own computer instead of reaching the cloud. That is fixed. Your next backup will go through on its own, and there is nothing you need to change or switch back on.

Nothing was lost while this was happening. The careers on your computer were never touched, and the backups already in the cloud stayed exactly as they were, so restoring one still works the way it always did. If a career looked out of date when you restored it on another computer, it was showing the last backup that reached the cloud before the problem began. Back that career up again from the computer you play it on and the cloud copy will catch up.

Play Freight Fate from every computer you own

Freight Fate ·

Each computer you play on now gets its own posting token from the driver setup page, so connecting a laptop no longer signs your desktop out. The setup page lists your computers by the names you give them, shows when each one was added and last played, and lets you sign out any single computer — or all of them at once with one fresh token if you think a token leaked.

Tokens issued before this change keep working. They appear on the setup page as your original token, and you can retire that token yourself once every computer has one of its own. Cloud saves keep their existing conflict guard, so two computers still cannot silently overwrite each other's progress.

Freight Fate cloud backups are now server-verified

Freight Fate ·

Cloud Backup revisions are accepted after orinks.net validates and signs them. Freight Fate verifies the signature before restoring a save.

Freight Fate profiles add road journals and achievements

Freight Fate ·

Freight Fate driver profiles now have separate Overview, Road journal, and Achievements pages, plus a driver updates feed.

More music, more ways to play the broadcast

The Midnight Signal ·

The Midnight Signal's active library now spans 491 officially verified music questions plus 564 questions from the show's established MusicBrainz, OpenTDB, and general-trivia archive. Award Desk, Chart Wire, World Signal, Instrument Detective, Studio Lab, Night Timeline, Archive Clue, Odd One Out, Needle Drop, and Sound Lab rounds give regular and nightly broadcasts a more varied rhythm.

Needle Drop and Sound Lab rounds use short, licensed Audius streams that play only when you choose Play. Every audio question includes an always-available equivalent text clue, and every answer keeps its verified source, recording credit, and license available until you continue.

Short station transmissions now connect the formats to Clyde's world: archive fragments, Producer notes, listener messages, chart and award reports, studio investigations, world-signal dispatches, and contemporary Audius discoveries. Their complete text is always visible, they never affect scoring or question order, and nightly callbacks are deterministic for everyone.

Pausing now counts as off duty on the drivers board

Freight Fate ·

The live drivers board now lists only drivers who are actively hauling. Opening the pause menu takes you off the board just as if you went off duty, and you reappear shortly after you resume driving. A quick pause and resume will not drop you from the list, and Discord presence still shows friends that your game is paused. The change arrives with the next Freight Fate update.

Driver naming rules, published and enforced

Freight Fate ·

Driver names now have published rules: no slurs or hate speech, no hate figures or hate symbols, no profanity, no impersonation, no harassment, and at least three letters. New and updated names are screened against the rules the moment you save them, and anything offensive that was stored earlier is hidden from public pages. Moderators can also reset a name outright, in which case the setup page asks you to choose a new one.

The Midnight Signal becomes a full roguelite

The Midnight Signal ·

Five new systems landed in one night. After every round you now draft a Signal Boost — nine run-changing upgrades, from the Static Filter that removes two wrong choices to Double Broadcast's double-or-nothing round. Every third round a caller rings the studio: The Archivist or The Night Owl poses one hard bonus question, no lives at stake, with a reward of your choosing. Lose your last life and you hit Dead Air — one final question stands between you and sign-off. Streaks now store signal strength you can spend on the Producer's Whisper, and every night's daily broadcast plays under a shared condition, from Flat Rates to the Long Haul.

The nightly broadcast is the headline competition: one attempt per night, identical questions and conditions for every contestant, and a plain-text shareable result when your run ends.

Fairer leaderboards

The Midnight Signal ·

Each contestant now appears once per board, ranked by their best run. The nightly board lists daily-challenge attempts only, walking away from a daily counts as that night's attempt, and automated-looking runs can no longer set records.

Freight Fate online accounts

Freight Fate ·

Freight Fate's online features now run on the same site-wide account as the rest of the games: one sign-in, one driver profile, and control over whether you appear on the live drivers board.
